On the implementation of the republican campaign «Archives for School» in the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation

On September 19, 2024, as part of the republican campaign «Archives for School», the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation» conducted an excursion for two groups of students of the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics of the Belarusian National Technological University.

During the excursion, the students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of BGANTD, its development from its foundation to the present day. They were told about how the archive was formed and what key stages it went through during its existence. Particular attention was paid to how the approach to organizing the storage of documents has changed over time and how new technologies contribute to this area.

During the excursion, the students visited one of the archives, where they got an idea of the organization of document storage in the archive and the main measures to ensure their safety. Students learned about the importance of regular monitoring of the condition of documents and the need to preserve and restore those materials that have undergone natural aging or damage.

At the end of the excursion, the archive staff demonstrated archival documents related to the main aspects of scientific and technical development of the Republic of Belarus.
