Single information day dedicated to National Unity Day in the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk

A meeting of the archive staff was held in the Zonal State Archive in Polotsk as part of a single information day and events dedicated to National Unity Day.

The director of the institution, Lyudmila Viktorovna Lazarenok, summed up the results of the cultural and educational events held for National Unity Day, in which the archive staff took an active part. Lyudmila Viktorovna recalled that National Unity Day was established by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated June 7, 2021, No. 206 and is rightfully one of the main state holidays.

The head of the department for the use and publication of documents, Marina Mikhailovna Dichkevich, prepared an exhibition of archival documents dedicated to National Unity Day. The exhibition presents documents that tell about the events to strengthen the western regions of the Byelorussian SSR with agricultural personnel, about the regulation of the use of former peasant forests, about agricultural taxation, about the opening of one-year agricultural schools to train masters of collective farm production in the western regions of the Byelorussian SSR, about holding district and regional amateur art shows dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the reunification of the Belarusian people in a single Byelorussian Soviet state.

In conclusion, the archive staff watched a film prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents, «Reunification».
