Meeting of the staff of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus dedicated to the Day of National Unity
On September 17, 2024, a meeting of the staff of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as NARB) was held dedicated to the Day of National Unity and the 85th anniversary of the reunification of Western Belarus with the BSSR. Deputy Director of NARB, PhD in History S.V. Kulinok congratulated the archive workers on the holiday and spoke about the policy of Polonization and cultural oppression that the gentry Poland carried out in the Western Belarusian lands, as well as about the struggle of the Belarusian people for their reunification.
Kulinok S.V. presented to the staff a new collection of documents «Saint-Petersburg and Western Belarus: divided, but adapted: 1921-1939: documents and materials», prepared by the leading archivist of the publications department, PhD in History O.N. Borovskaya. The collection presents more than 200 documents from the funds of Belarusian, Russian and Polish archives. The deputy director of NARB also spoke about the archive’s exhibition projects prepared for the 85th anniversary of the reunification of Western Belarus with the BSSR.
At the end of the meeting, a screening of the documentary film «Reunification» prepared by the employees of the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents took place.
