Exhibition of archival documents for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus at the «Congress of Patriotic Forces»

On September 9 and 10, 2024, the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus held the «Congress of Patriotic Forces». As part of this event, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus prepared a documentary exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

The exhibition presents the most interesting documents from the NARB funds: orders of the Belarusian Headquarters of the Partisan Movement (BShPD), unique military maps, diagrams, coded telegrams, reports, orders of the command, which reflect the activities on planning and conducting Operation Bagration. The documents testify to the mass heroism shown in battle. The exhibition also presents award and personal sheets on the registration of partisan personnel; personal files of Heroes of the Soviet Union P. Masherov, S. Vaupshasov, K. Zaslonov, V. Korzh. Documents from the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Operation Bagration are presented to the participants of the Congress. Many of them are being shown for the first time.

The exhibition was visited by representatives of Russia, Slovakia, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria and Germany. The head of the Department for the Use of Documents and Information M.A. Starostenko acquainted the participants of the event with unique documents.
