Virtual exhibition dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Arlen Mikhailovich Kashkurevich, Belarusian graphic artist, teacher, and people’s artist
On September 15, 1929, Belarusian graphic artist, teacher, and people’s artist Arlen Mikhailovich Kashkurevich turns 95. On the occasion of the artist’s birthday, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art has prepared a virtual exhibition.
The BGAMLI contains the personal collection of Arlen Kashkurevich (F.249). The documents were received by the archive-museum on June 15, 1981, February 4, 1985, September 27, 1995, and in 2012. The collection consisted of 495 files (inventory No.1/No.2) for 1952-1995 and 2012. Among them are documents of the artist’s creative activity, correspondence, visual documents, documents for the biography, documents collected by A.M.Kashkurevich on topics of interest to him.
As a result of scientific and technical processing of documents received by BGAMLI from him in July 2012, and in 2015 from his son F.A.Kashkurevich, inventory No.3 was compiled in the amount of 93 files (533 documents) for 1960-2011. The inventory consists of creative documents of the artist. The first section is «Easel graphics and others by A.M.Kashkurevich», the second section is «Portraits by A.M.Kashkurevich», the third section is «Book graphics by A.M.Kashkurevich».
We invite you to familiarize yourself with the autobiography of A.M.Kashkurevich, which was written by him in 1981 and 1995. The text is presented preserving the features of the language and spelling of the original (F.249. Op.1. unit archive 113. Ill.1-13).
