The Zonal State Archives in Bobruisk with an exhibition in the correctional institution «Educational Colony No. 2»
The Zonal State Archives in Bobruisk, within the framework of the Plan of joint organizational and practical activities of the Main Justice Department of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee and the correctional institution «Educational Colony No. 2» of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for the Mogilev Region, held a traveling exhibition at the correctional institution for pupils and representatives of the BRSM public organization dedicated to the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
The Zonal State Archives in Bobruisk presented documents of the Bobruisk Regional Commission for Assistance in the Work of the Extraordinary State Commission for the Establishment and Investigation of the Atrocities of the Nazi Invaders and Their Accomplices and the Damage They Caused to Citizens, Public Organizations, State Enterprises and Institutions of the Bobruisk Region, the BSSR. It is impossible to read these documents without aching in the heart. The documents reflect all the horrors that the Nazi invaders committed on the territory of our city. The documents and materials contain information about the atrocities of the Nazi invaders on the territory of the city of Bobruisk during the occupation in 1941-1944.
A unique artifact is also presented – an album of drawings and photographs telling about the combat path of the 54th Bomber Aviation Regiment during the Great Patriotic War. The album was created by the regiment’s servicemen who serviced combat aircraft and in their free time illustrated the military path of their unit from the first days of the war to the Victory in May 1945 on the album’s pages. In 1944, the 54th regiment took part in the Mozyr-Kalinkovich and Bobruisk operations, bombing enemy manpower and equipment. The unique album was preserved and transferred to the archive by one of its authors, Bobruisk resident Sergei Efimovich Ryabkov.
