The institution «State Archives of the Gomel Region» organized a screening of the documentary film «Liberation» for the teams of the Sports and Tourism Department of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee and the Gomel Regional Directorate of the Department of State Labor Inspection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus

07/12/2024 within the framework of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could» the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter referred to as the State Archive) organized a screening of the documentary film «Liberation» for the teams of the Sports and Tourism Department of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee and the Gomel Regional Directorate of the Department of State Labor Inspection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, numbering 35 people.

Speaking to the participants of the event, GAGom director Andrei Nikolaevich Suschevich spoke about the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could», which was prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, where the story of the liberation of the cities of Belarus is told in chronological order.

Before watching the documentary film «Liberation», the employees talked about the events of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) and the need to preserve historical memory. During the discussion, the director of the GAGom gave comprehensive answers to all the questions asked.
