Presentation of an illustrated collection of documents «Operation Bagration». Partisans of the Belarusian Land» in the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War

On July 2, 2024, as part of a round table dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, a presentation of the book «Operation Bagration». Partisans of the Belarusian land» took place at the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. The publication was prepared as part of the Union State Library project.

The book presents irrefutable evidence of the military glory and feat of arms of the «people’s avengers»: archival documents from the funds of the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents, the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, and the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by: State Secretary of the Union State D.F. Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus A.G.Volfovich, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus V.B.Pertsov, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus A.I.Ivanets, leaders ministries and departments, parliamentarians of Belarus and Russia, representatives of student youth, young students of patriotic clubs, historians and others. The archival industry was represented by the Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O.L.Voinov and the Director of the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus A.K.Demyanuk.

In their speeches, the event participants noted that the people of Belarus and Russia remember and will always remember and honor the feat of the Soviet people, the significant contribution of the «people’s avengers» to the fight against the Nazis, noted the content of the new publication, which will be a good help in patriotic and moral education, especially the younger generation.

Summing up the event, D.F.Mezentsev expressed gratitude to the archivists for their great contribution to the preparation of the publication.
