Conducting a lesson on the topic «Grodno Unconquered» for pupils of the health camp «Science» of the State Educational Institution «Lyceum No. 1 named after academician Yu.M. Ostrovsky, Grodno» as part of the «Archives to School» event in the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On June 18, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» held a lesson on the topic «Grodno Unconquered» for pupils of the Science health camp of the State Educational Institution «Lyceum No. 1 named after Academician Yu.M. Ostrovsky, Grodno». .

The lesson was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. Archive staff told students about the partisan and underground movement in the Grodno region, about the liberation battles for Grodno in July 1944, about the socio-economic consequences of the occupation and the long process of restoring the national economy destroyed by the war.

During a sightseeing tour of the archives, schoolchildren received information about the storage conditions, composition and content of documents stored in the State Archives of the Grodno Region.
