About holding a film lecture in Brest
On June 6, in the conference hall of the Museum of Defense of the Brest Fortress of the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex, a film lecture was held, during which a short documentary film «To the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Brest from the Nazi invaders» was shown, prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents within the framework of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could.»
Among the participants are members of the Memory Post detachment, carrying out the city Memory Watch at the Eternal Flame in the Brest Fortress (students of school No. 12 in Brest), students of the Brest Trade and Technology College, students of school No. 30, No. 9 of Brest.
The director of the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex, Alexander Alexandrovich Korkotadze, addressed those present with a welcoming speech.
Before the screening, an associate professor of the Department of History of Belarus and Political Science at Brest State University gave a lecture on the liberation of Brest. A.S. Pushkina, candidate of historical sciences Romanovich Pavel Stepanovich.
Director of the State Archive of the Brest Region Anna Gennadievna Karapuzova spoke about the «Open Film Archive» project.
As part of the film lecture, participants were presented with a banner exhibition of archival documents prepared by the State Archives of the Brest Region «There was a war… There was a victory!»
