On the demonstration of the premiere screening of the documentary film «Liberation» by the institution «Zonal State Archive in Slutsk»

On June 10, as part of the round table «Not Subject to Oblivion», a meeting was held between Natalya Ovsyannikova, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, and students of the Slutsk State College. Together with the Zonal State Archive of Slutsk on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and within the framework of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could», a screening of the documentary film «Liberation» was organized, prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents.

Before the start of the screening, the director of the zonal state archive, I.A.Borodina, made an opening speech and told those present about the creation of the film. Why Independence and Liberation Day of Belarus is important for each of us. May 9 and July 3 are not just holiday dates. This is a symbol of the feat of the entire Belarusian people, their heroism in the Great Patriotic War.

Students watched footage of a unique archival chronicle of the liberation of our country from fascism, saw historical events and people of whom descendants are rightfully proud.

During the round table, the children discussed important issues for everyone: what is patriotism, how do they understand the slogan of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly «Time has chosen us», «The Year of Quality – what depends on you?» and etc.
