The Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa took part in the radio broadcast

June 10, 2024 on the eve of the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the leading archaeographer of the department of information and use of documents of the Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa, Sergei Zharnosenko, took part in the daytime broadcast of Gomel City Radio.

In a conversation with host Angelina Goncharova, Sergei Alexandrovich talked about what documents on the topic of the Great Patriotic War are stored in the archive. In particular, they named documents about the occupation period stored in the funds of the Extraordinary State Commission of the USSR for the Investigation of Fascist Crimes and the district executive committees of the archive acquisition zone. Attention was focused on the documents of the personal funds of veterans of the Great Patriotic War – what information they contain, what feelings the veterans experienced when they went into battle, and what their personal contribution to the Victory was.

The role of the Rechitsa State Archives in society was also noted – searching for information about relatives at the request of users, the archive’s participation in events («Archives for School», «Forest Week», «Let’s Collect a Briefcase for a First-Grader») and events dedicated to state, socially significant and professional holidays ( Victory Day, Remembrance Day for Internationalist Soldiers, International Archives Day, etc.).
