The institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» holds events within the framework of the republican action «Archives to School»

On June 4, 2024, as part of the republican action «Archives to School», on the basis of the institution «State Archives of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter referred to as the State Archives of the Gomel Region), a lesson-lecture on the topic «Liberation of Belarus. Heroes’ deeds are immortal».

As part of the event, Alina Drozdova, senior researcher at the Department of Information, Publication and Use of Documents at the State Archive, conducted a lesson «Liberation of Belarus. Heroes’ deeds are immortal». During the conversation with schoolchildren, they talked about the events of the Great Patriotic War, preserving the memory of the exploits of the heroes who took part in the defense and liberation of our Motherland.

In addition, in the reading room, the GAG ​​showed the documentary film «Liberation» for the children as part of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

At the end of the event, students were given a sightseeing tour of the archives, which was conducted by the leading archivist of the department of accounting and preservation of documents, Marina Bortnovskaya, during which schoolchildren became familiar with the conditions for storing documents and the composition of archival funds.
