Premiere screenings of the documentary newsreel «Liberation» continue in Molodechno

On May 23, at ZhREU No. 6 of the UE «Kommunalnik», specialists from the institution «Zonal State Archive in Molodechno» presented the documentary film «Liberation» to the employees of the enterprise.

The newsreel was prepared for the celebration of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, as well as within the framework of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could».

Archivists provided information on how the video chronicle was created to 50 members of the work collective. The film aroused genuine interest among many, because it not only testifies to the important stages of winning the Great Victory, but also the importance of preserving historical truth and the role of front-line operators in this. Selfless artists left the world unique evidence, war newsreels, serving in the most difficult areas – under heavy fire from enemy artillery, tanks and machine guns. Almost everyone was wounded, more than half seriously, and at least a quarter died on the front line.

Work on demonstrating the film «Liberation» in the region will continue.
