The State Archive of the Brest Region has prepared a banner exhibition «There was a war… There was a victory!»

On the eve of the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory, the State Archives of the Brest Region prepared a banner exhibition of archival documents «There was a war… There was a victory!»

The exhibition presents more than 70 documents from the archival funds of the German occupation authorities of the period 1941-1944, the Brest Regional Commission for Assistance in the work of the Extraordinary State Commission to establish and investigate the atrocities of the Nazi invaders and the damage they caused in the Brest region, the Brest Regional Executive Committee and the City Executive Committee , party organs, articles and notes from newspapers for 1944-1945, as well as a number of photographs.

The exhibition is divided into three blocks: «The occupation regime in the Brest region», «Genocide of the civilian population of the Brest region», «Resumption of peaceful life».

The exhibition was exhibited in the building of the main department of justice of the Brest Regional Executive Committee during film screenings of the documentary film «Liberation»; from May 8, 2024 it will be located in the foyer of the archive building on the street. V. Khoruzhey, 15.
