Employees of the state archive of public associations of the Gomel region held a film lecture as part of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could» for students of the Gomel State College of Culinary Arts

On May 3, 2024, employees of the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Gomel Region» held a film lecture as part of the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could» for students of the educational institution «Gomel State Culinary College».

During the event, the children were shown the documentary film «Liberation», prepared by the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

Before the start of the session, archivist of the first qualification category in the sector of information, publication and use of documents Victoria Vladimirovna Mantsurovskaya told the children about the project «Open Film Archive. We brought this day closer as best we could», which is carried out in pursuance of the Plan for the preparation and holding of festive events for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of October 5, 2023 No.316.

In conclusion, a sightseeing tour of the archive was held, during which the children visited exhibitions of archival documents and photographs «War does not have a woman’s face» and «Heroes of the Great Victory», which are exhibited in the reading room of the state archive.
