The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus presented the exhibition project «Genocide of the Belarusian people. No statute of limitations»

On April 30, 2024, an interdepartmental scientific and practical conference was held at the Educational Institution «Center for Training, Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus». Its participants were employees of the ideological apparatuses of state bodies of the national security system of the Republic of Belarus. Conference theme: «Organization of military-patriotic education of children and youth in government agencies of the national security system». The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus (NARB) presented the exhibition project «Genocide of the Belarusian people. No statute of limitations».

The Second World War was not only the bloodiest, but also the most brutal against civilians. The exhibition introduces numerous documentary evidence of the crimes of the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War – acts of the Extraordinary State Commission, which contain information about the crimes committed by the Nazis against the civilian population of the BSSR during the Great Patriotic War.

Among the documents presented are the memoirs of Olga Petrovna Kraiko, a prisoner of the Auschwitz death camp; protocol of interrogation of Ludwig Nittka, who took part in the execution of civilians in the village of Shaulichi, Volkovysk district, Grodno region; an act drawn up by residents of the village of Selishche, Kamensky village council, Pleschenitsky district, Minsk region, on the burning of the village of Khatyn with its population; a memo to the head of the BSPD P. Kalinin about the burning by the Germans of the corpses of brutally executed Soviet citizens in Mogilev and Bobruisk; order of the field commandant on the creation of a ghetto in Minsk; order from the commander of the special SS battalion Oskar Dirlewanger to comb the rear during Operation Hornung; registration cards for Belarusians taken for forced labor in Germany and other unique documents from the archive.

The photo-documentary materials presented at the exhibition are united by the idea of preserving historical memory, which contributes to the self-identification of the Belarusian people, fostering patriotism and a sense of pride in the heroic past.
