On April 18, 2024, the State Archive of the Vitebsk Region was visited by members of the local history circle, students of gymnasium No.3 in Vitebsk.

A sightseeing tour of the archive and a thematic lesson were organized for the children. During the visit, schoolchildren got acquainted with the history of archival affairs in the Vitebsk region and the main areas of activity of the modern archive, and visited one of the archives.

At a thematic lesson dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, young local historians received information about the storage locations of documents from the period of the Great Patriotic War and watched the documentary film «On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Vitebsk region from the Nazi invaders», prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, as well as virtual exhibition projects about the events of the Great Patriotic War in the Vitebsk Region, prepared by the State Archive of the Vitebsk Region.

The events were held as part of the republican action «Archives for School».
