Conducting a lesson for 9th grade students as part of the «Archives for School» event at the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region»

On April 12, 2024, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the institution «State Archive of the Grodno Region» for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.16 named after A.Sukhombaev in Grodno» held a lesson on the topic «Partisan and underground struggle in the territory of the Grodno region during the Great Patriotic War».

Schoolchildren were shown documentary materials reflecting the criminal activities of the Nazi invaders in the Grodno region during the Great Patriotic War. Archive staff told students about the selfless and courageous struggle of partisans and underground fighters against the occupation authorities. The memories of war participants, as well as documents and materials about the activities of anti-fascist formations in the Grodno region, aroused great interest among schoolchildren.

Also, the schoolchildren were presented with exhibitions of documents on display in the reading room of the archive, dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War.

The lesson ended with a sightseeing tour of the archives, during which students were told about the conditions and features of document storage.
