Seminar «Digitization of film documents using modern scanning equipment» at the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents

On March 20, 2024, a seminar on the topic: «Digitization of film documents using modern scanning equipment» was held at the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents».

Leading specialists in the digitization of film documents of the National Film Studio «Belarusfilm» head of the PC (film post) Alexander Valeryevich Dormidontov, leading specialist in digital film technology processes Valery Vladimirovich Groshevsky and employees of the document digitization department of the Belarusian State Archive of Film Photo and Sound Documents discussed various methods and approaches for scanning film stored in the archive, exchanged valuable experience in using scanning equipment.

The event participants discussed issues related to the digitization of film documents and improving the quality of digitization of film documents using the latest scanning equipment. During the meeting, the features of working with the software were studied and the technical capabilities of modern scanning equipment acquired by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents were demonstrated.

This meeting became an excellent platform for the interaction of specialized specialists, the exchange of experience in such a complex type of work as the digitization of film documents, and the establishment of closer interaction between the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents and the National Film Studio «Belarusfilm».
