Exhibition «The main document of the country (to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus)»

On March 15, 2024, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus opened a temporary exhibition «The Main Document of the Country (to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus)» at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

The 30th anniversary of the Constitution is a landmark event in modern Belarus. In all respects, the Belarusian Constitution is the Constitution of a developed, free society, which is based on the principle of the rule of law, a clear separation of branches of power, the diversity of political institutions, ideological views, it reflects the experience of constitutional construction of the advanced countries of the world, clearly and consistently sets out basic universal values.

The exhibition presents archival documents that reflect the chronology of the formation of the constitutional foundations in Belarus and talk about the progress of the preparation and adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus of 1994 and the introduction of amendments and additions to the Basic Law of the Republic in connection with the rapidly changing political, socio-economic realities.

Today, the Constitution is in force with amendments and additions adopted at republican referendums on November 24, 1996, October 17, 2004 and February 27, 2022. The Belarusian Constitution guarantees every citizen the freedoms and rights necessary for creative work, a dignified life and harmonious all-round development personality.

Head of Department M.A. Starostenko and researcher at the Department for the Use of Documents and Information Yu.S. Prostakov was introduced to the exhibition by Ministry employees.
