About conducting an excursion for 11th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.40 of Mogilev»
In the year of quality and as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, on March 11, 2024, the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region» was visited by students of the 11th grade of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.40 of Mogilev».
The head of the department Tatyana Shevchik spoke about the defense of the city of Mogilev in July 1941, about the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, about the partisan movement in the Mogilev region and introduced the children to documentary exhibitions prepared by the archive staff, based on archival documents on topics : «Defense of Mogilev», «Partisan memory», «80th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Mogilev», «Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus», «Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War», «Tikhonov I.A. – a fund of personal origin».
A quiz was held for students on the topic: «The Great Patriotic War».
The students were shown documentaries: «Genocide. Without the right to life», «We brought this day closer as best we could. Open Film Archive» prepared by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, «Constitution Day».
The head of the department Svetlana Bartsuleva spoke about the history of the creation and the main activities of the archive. Also, as part of this event, students were given a sightseeing tour of the archive storage facility, during which guests became familiar with the composition of the stored documents and their storage regime.
During the excursion, schoolchildren got acquainted with the exhibition on the history of the party archive.
