Excursion in native language from BSAMLA

On February 21, 2024, on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day and as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art conducted an excursion for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.2 of Minsk». In the reading room of the archive, the students were presented with the exhibition «Perad of yourself and the light of the day…», dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the national poet of Belarus Arkady Kuleshov, whose works are familiar to every person since childhood. It should be noted that both children and BGAMLI employees spoke exclusively in Belarusian, thus joining the celebration of International Mother Language Day.

In addition, schoolchildren were given a sightseeing tour of the archive; students became acquainted with the profession of «archivist», learned about the main activities of the archive, and the specifics of working with archival documents.
