On the ceremonial presentation of the Certificate of the heraldic symbol of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation»
February 1, 2024 after the Inter-Republican seminar «Use of documents stored in the state archives of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan. Exchange of Experience», a ceremonial presentation of Certificates of assignment of the heraldic symbol to the republican, regional and zonal archives took place. The «Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation» became one of the archives that was also awarded a Certificate.
The heraldic symbol of BGANTD was approved by the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus in agreement with the Heraldic Council under the President of the Republic of Belarus. This emblem is a monochrome composition that symbolizes the main goals and values of the archive.
Details of the heraldic symbol:
The emblem consists of superimposed images of a circle and a square. Circle and square are the most common geometric shapes used in various types of scientific and technical documentation. In the center of the composition is a contour image of an open marking compass, which symbolizes our institution and its connection with the archival industry. The arrangement of figures in the logo refers to the drawing of the «Vitruvian Man», where the square symbolizes the material world, and the circle symbolizes the spiritual, which corresponds to our goals for the accumulation, storage, accounting and scientific use of archival documents in the interests of citizens, society and the state. The heraldic symbol is made in monochrome outline form, which is typical for the main types of scientific and technical documentation.
