On participation in the republican action «Archives – School» of the institution «Zonal State Archive in Krichev»

January 27 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. In memory of those tragic events, the leading archivist of the Zonal State Archive in Krichev, Victoria Kondratenko, together with employees of the service and information department of the central library on January 25, 2024 for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No. 1 of Krichev» held an hour of remembrance «Holocaust memory of generations».

Students learned about the history of the Holocaust, the concentration death camps – Auschwitz, the Minsk ghetto, and the Krichev prisoner of war camp. Victoria Kondratenko acquainted those present with archival materials confirming the atrocities of the Nazis on Krichev land, eyewitness memories of the massacres of Jews, and the burned village of Antonovka. The event was accompanied by a media presentation «Remember… Don’t forget!», and a video clip from the movie «The Boy in the Striped Pajamas» was shown.
