Conducting a lesson for 9th grade students as part of the «Archives for School» campaign

On December 5, 2023, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the institution «State Archives of the Grodno Region» for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Secondary School No.32»

Grodno» a lesson was held on the topic «Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War».

Exhibitions of documents «There was a People’s War. Partisans and underground fighters of the Grodno region», «Not subject to oblivion», «We brought this day closer as best we could…». Documentary materials presented at the exhibitions reflect the tragedy of the civilian population during the Great Patriotic War and reveal the policy of genocide of the Belarusian population by the Nazi invaders. The staff of the reading room also introduced students to documents of partisan and underground brigades that operated in the Grodno region during the years of Nazi occupation.

During a sightseeing tour of the archives, schoolchildren received information about the storage conditions, composition and content of documents stored in the State Archives of the Grodno Region.
