On the holding of an event by the State Archive of the Brest Region as part of the pilot project «Young Archivist»

As part of the republican action «Archives for School» and the pilot project «Young Archivist», as well as in accordance with the work plan of the branch of the Department of History of Belarus and Political Science of the Educational Institution «Brest State University named after A.S.Pushkin» at the institution «State Archives of the Brest Region» for the 2023/2024 academic year. On November 28, 2023, a lecture was given to 3rd year students of the Faculty of History on the topic «The Development of Brest in 1919-1939. (based on materials from the State Archives of the Brest Region)».

During the lecture, Director of the State Archives of the Brest Region A.G. Karapuzova spoke about the documents stored in the archive, which contain a large amount of factual material on the history of the city of Brest in 1919-1939, reflecting all aspects of the life of the city: the state of the city economy, its restoration after the First World War, population statistics in different years, economic development, state education and health care, economic situation of the population, etc.

At the end, Anna Karapuzova answered students’ questions and invited them to continue studying archival documents on their own in the archive reading room.
