The Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Documentation conducted an information and training session as part of the «Archives for School» campaign

As part of the «Archives to School» campaign, on November 23, 2023, the state institution «Belarusian Research Center for Electronic Documentation» held an information and training event for students of the educational institution «Minsk State College of Service and Technology».

Leading archivist of the archive of electronic documents A.V.Khvalevko told college students about the role and functions of archives in everyday life and future professional activities of students, the importance of working with documents and the features of working with documents in electronic form, introduced students to the main milestones in the history of the development of archival industry, its structure and composition, main areas of activity.

Particular attention was paid to the need for a scientific and critical assessment of information on the history of Belarus contained in information resources, social networks and other sources available on the Internet, using archival documents of the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Belarus and (or) links to them.

As an information resource containing genuine information, students were shown the website «Documentary Chronicle of Belarus», as well as electronic versions of collections of documents in the series «Without Statute of Limitations», «Restoration of Agriculture of Belarus: 1946-1950», popular science publication «Archives. Nothing but the truth».
