About the visit of the students of school No. 19 in Brest to the reading room of the State Archives of the Brest region

As part of the republican action «Archives – school» on November 14, 2023, the reading room of the archive on ul. V.Khoruzhey, 15 was visited by students of the 11th grade of GUO «Secondary school No. 19 of Brest named after the Hero of the Soviet Union S.I.Sikorsky» accompanied by the history teacher Yu.V.Karabanyuk.

The children faced a task: to identify documents for the design of a museum exposition on the history of Brest during the Great Patriotic War.

Employee of the reading room Suharevich O.V. conducted a master class for schoolchildren on searching for information in archival documents on a topic of interest. In the course of joint work, documents testifying to the existence of the Brest ghetto and a camp for prisoners of war on the territory of Yuzhnogorod were revealed.
