On the participation of an employee of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus in the International Conference dedicated to the Great Patriotic War

On October 24, 2023, the Faculty of History of BSU hosted the work of the section «Partisan struggle in Belarus during the decisive battles of 1943: history and historical memory» of the International scientific and practical conference «Russia in the 21st century: the Great Patriotic War and historical memory. Decisive summer battles of 1943 on the fronts and in the rear of the Nazi troops in the assessments of Soviet and German military leaders and historians».

Dean of the Faculty of History of BSU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.G.Kokhanovsky addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech. He noted the large-scale work of Belarusian scientists to study various aspects of the history of the Great Patriotic War and preserve historical memory.

Head of the Publications Department of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, Ph.D. S.V.Kulinok made a report «The Foundation of the Belarusian Headquarters of the Partisan Movement: formation, composition, information potential». At the end of the speech, the speaker answered numerous questions from the audience.

Students from BSU and BSPU took part in the conference. Many reports of young researchers were based on materials from the Internet portal «Partisans of Belarus».
