Meeting with students of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On October 26, 2023, on the basis of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus a lesson was held in the discipline “Archives of Personal Origin” for 4th year students of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University.
The head of the department of personal funds Inessa Vladimirovna Dorogush spoke about the history of the archive, the structure, composition and features of storing documents, the work of the archive in the field of publication and exhibition activities.
As part of the lesson, future historian-archivists became familiar with the main activities of the department of personal collections. Dorogush I.V. spoke about the acquisition, scientific and technical processing of documents, ensuring their safety, as well as the use of regulations and methodological documents in working with documents of personal origin.
The guests visited the archives of personal funds, where they got acquainted with documents from the personal archives of state, party and public figures, participants in the Great Patriotic War, where they had a unique opportunity to practice conducting an examination of the value of documents, and visually study the specifics of the design and accounting of museum objects. Students were also shown the functionality of the “Personal Funds” software module.
Students visited a photo-documentary exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Viktorovich Lashkevich, a public figure, historian, archivist, head of the Main Archive Directorate under the Council of Ministers of the BSSR, participant in the Great Patriotic War.
