About the organization by the institution “Zonal State Archive in Orsha” of the exhibition “They glorified our city: the history of the Orsha region in persons”

On October 17, 2023, the institution “Zonal State Archive in Orsha” prepared an exhibition “They glorified our city: the history of the Orsha region in persons”.

There are many names of famous people and honorary citizens associated with Orsha. Someone contributed to history, someone was born in Orsha, someone went through the Great Patriotic War, and someone just lived in the city and contributed to the development of the city throughout. Among them there are people of different professions who have gone from a simple worker to a director, deputies, athletes, artists and local historians.

The exhibition presents documents from the funds of personal origin of citizens who have made their unique contribution to the development of industrial, social and spiritual activities in Orsha and Orsha district – Bartashevich A.A., Zhitnov V.M., Leoshko B.A., Merciful A.K., F.A.Timkaeva, etc.: Komsomol and membership cards, certificates, commendation sheets, diplomas, certificates of honor, extracts from orders, newspaper articles, photographs, etc.

The exhibition is addressed to a wide range of people: schoolchildren, students, local historians, teachers and everyone interested in the history and culture of the region.
