On the participation of an employee of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents» in the round table «Ivan Nasovich: linguist, ethnographer, folklore scholar (to 235 years ago)»

October 6 at the information and exhibition center of the Central Scientific Library. Yakub Kolas of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus held a round table «Ivan Nasovich: linguist, ethnographer, folklore scholar (to 235 years ago)».

The round table was organized by the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics, the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents, and the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The problem area of the round table was the legacy of Ivan Nasovich, his contribution to linguistics and folklore, as well as the state of the scientist’s handwritten heritage.

The head of the department of state accounting and scientific reference apparatus, Maria Dmitrievna Romanova, took part in the round table. She selected fragments of film documents from the BGAKFFD funds for demonstration during the meeting. The sources were the films «Ivan Nasovich» (architect no. 35_03197, 1991) and «Hell of the Lord is Spakon Vyakov…» (architect no. 35_03391, 1996).

The plots of the film documents were illustrated by the reports of Vladimir Vikentievich Moroz, the author of the script for the film «Ivan Nasovich,» as well as candidate of art history, associate professor Konstantin Igorevich Remishevsky about Belarusian documentary filmmaking of the 1990s.
