Visit of schoolchildren to the Zonal State Archive in Kobrin

On October 9, 2023, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign and the Year of Peace and Creation, the Zonal State Archive in Kobrin was visited by 10th grade students from the Kobrin gymnasium.

During a sightseeing tour of the archive, students became familiar with the main types of work. We learned about optimal conditions for storing documents. The guys in the archives were shown non-standard (large format) documents. In the reading room of the archive, a video lesson «Filing files using an archival-binding machine» is shown.

At the end of the meeting, archive specialists spoke about Internet resources that can be used to search for information about archives, as well as obtain information about the types of documents stored in them. We answered questions about which higher and secondary educational institutions today train specialists in the archival industry.
