About carrying out by employees of the institution “Zonal state archive in Orsha” within the framework of the action “Archives – school” lectures “Archival business in Orsha region” and “Profession archivist”

On September 20-21, 2023, within the framework of the republican action “Archives-school” and events dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation, with students of state educational institutions “Secondary School No. 2 of Orsha”, “Secondary School No. 22 of Bolbasovo named after S.I.Gritsevets”, “Mezhevskaya secondary School of Orsha district” head of the department M.A.Nikulina conducted information hours on the following topics: “Archival work in the Orsha region” and “The profession of an archivist”.

During the events, the children got acquainted with the history of the archive service in the Orsha district and the main activities of the institution, as well as the history of the building – the former monastery of the Trinitarians, in which the archive is located.

For the students, sightseeing tours of the State Archive in Orsha were conducted with visits to its departments, restoration workshop and archive storage, where the children learned about the structure of the institution and the field of activity of each division, the area of acquisition of the archive and the archival funds available in storage, the specifics of storing files and areas of work with archival documents.
