About the contest «The Best Reading Room of the State Archives»

In pursuance of paragraph 2 of the Protocol of instructions of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus S.N. Khomenko, given on February 3, 2023 during the extended meeting of the Board of the Department for Archives and Records Management «On the results of the work of the archive industry of the Republic of Belarus for 2022 and Tasks for 2023», in the period from September 1 to November 30, 2023, the «Best Reading Room of the State Archives» competition will be held.

The competition will be held in the following nominations: «The Best Reading Room of the Republican Archives», «The Best Reading Room of the Regional State Archives», «The Best Reading Rooms of the Regional State Archives» strong>.

In accordance with Contest Regulations The «Best Reading Room of the State Archives» competition is organized and held by the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus together with the main departments of justice of the regional executive committees.

The public association Belarusian Society of Archivists acts as a co-organizer of the Competition.

The competition is held once every two years (on odd years). The dates of the Competition, the composition of the Republican Competition Commission for organizing, conducting and evaluating the participants in the competition «The Best Reading Room of the State Archives» are announced by order of the Director of the Department.
