On conducting a sightseeing tour in the institution «State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region»

On June 7, 2023, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign and events dedicated to the International Day / International Week of Archives, employees of the State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region conducted an excursion for 2nd year students of the Mogilev Gymnasium – College of Arts named after A.E.Glebov.

Documentary exhibitions were presented to the attention of the children: «The history of the establishment of the State Archive of Public Associations of the Mogilev Region», «Partisan Memory», «Genocide of the Belarusian People», prepared by the archive staff, on the basis of archival documents.

The archivists spoke about the history of the creation and the main activities of the archive, about the participants in the Great Patriotic War, about the partisan movement in the Klichevsky region and about the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, based on materials from the archive funds.

Also, the students had a sightseeing tour in the archive storage, where the guys got acquainted with the composition of the stored documents, the mode of their storage.
The museum exposition «History of the Party Archive» was presented to the guests. At the end of the tour, the children enjoyed a short course in typing on a mechanical typewriter.
