Excursion trip of employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus
On June 3, 2023, the staff of the State Institution «National Archives of the Republic of Belarus» (NARB) visited the institution «Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life» in the agro-town of Ozertso, Minsk region. The trip was organized by the leadership of the archive and the primary trade union organization and timed to coincide with the birthday of the NARB, which was celebrated on May 28.
Accompanied by a museum guide, the archivists toured the exposition sector «Central Belarus» and got acquainted with the living and working conditions of the Belarusian peasants of the 19th – early 20th centuries. During an interesting and informative excursion, the archive workers visited traditional peasant houses, outbuildings, a church and a folk school, learned about the organization of rural life, relations in a peasant family, religious rituals, culinary traditions, the basics of flax processing and folk weaving.
After the tour ended, the archivists had lunch in a traditional Belarusian tavern on the territory of the museum. Director of the archive A.K.Demyanuk, deputy directors E.V.Kushnova and E.A.Stukanova, chairman of the primary trade union organization of the archive T.A.Shevchenko, heads of departments congratulated colleagues on the birthday of the archive, thanked for the work done and maintaining a friendly atmosphere, and also expressed their wishes for further strengthening team cohesion and the continuation of joint trips.
