May 15 on the International Day of the Family and within the framework of the action “Archives for School” in the institution “Zonal State Archive in Mozyr” School No. 1 in Mozyr” (class teacher – Konyushenko Irina Nikolaevna) an information-thematic hour was held on the topic: “Genealogy in archive documents. How to create a family tree”. The students got acquainted with the documents of the archive containing genealogical information, with the scientific and reference apparatus of the archive, Internet resources containing information that helps to find their relatives. The children were given a task: to create their own family tree. The meeting ended with excursions to the exhibitions of archival documents: “In the lines smelling of gunpowder …” (letters from Red Army soldiers from the fronts of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945), “They brought Victory closer” (memoirs of participants in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945) and a sightseeing tour in the archive repository.
