STATE ARCHIVE OF MINSK REGION PRESENTED AN EXHIBITION ON THE MOUND OF GLORY
On Victory Day, the territory of the memorial complex «Mound of Glory» became the main site of the Minsk region. The State Archives of the Minsk Region joined the festive events and presented a banner exhibition «Keeping the past, appreciating the present, building the future!». The exhibition exposition reflects the history of the Minsk region from the moment of its formation, the hard times of the war, the post-war period of restoration and creation.
The visitors were presented with unique archival documents on the exact date of the burning of the village of Khatyn and the number of dead residents, a list of citizens burned by the Germans in a flax dryer in the village of Poldorozhye, Volozhin district, and others. Documents on the creation of a sculpture of an old man with a dying grandson in his arms in the Khatyn memorial complex, on the protection of the territory of the former death camp Trostenets reflect the process of perpetuating the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
