Opening of the stationary exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the honored architect of the BSSR Yevgeny Konstantinovich Dyatlov, a participant in the Great Patriotic War
On May 5, 2023, on the eve of Victory Day on May 9, in the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, the stationary exhibition «Life embodied in architecture» dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Architect of the BSSR Yevgeny Konstantinovich Dyatlov began its work (17.05.1923 – 11.03.2003).
E.K.Dyatlov was 19 years old when the war started. From 1942 to 1944 he was an active member of the partisan detachment «Flame». Dreaming of becoming an architect after the war (the dream came true in 1950), he constantly practiced drawing. The drawings made by him in 1942–1944 depict partisan life, partisan friends, Red Army soldiers, etc.
After the liberation of Belarus from the invaders, Evgeny Dyatlov was sent to study at the Moscow Institute of Architecture, which he graduated with honors in 1950, majoring in «architect».
The architect returned to Minsk in the fall of 1965. According to his projects, the restaurant «Svityaz», the department store «Riga» were built, and the projects of detailed planning and construction of residential micro-districts «Vostok», «Serebryanka» and others were developed. From 1965 to 1970, he headed the master plan workshop of the Minsk project, in 1970–1974 he was the chief architect of the city of Minsk, in 1974–1979 – chief architect of Belgiprotorg, 1979–1983. – chief architect of the Minsk project.
E.K.Dyatlov actively participated and directly supervised the project of substantiation of the construction of the subway in Minsk (1966–1974), work on the correction of the general plan of Minsk for 1980.
In 1988, E.K.Dyatlov was awarded the title «Honored Architect of the BSSR». A number of his architectural projects were awarded prizes of All-Union and republican competitions.
