On May 4, 2023, a solemn meeting was held in the reading room of the «State Archive of the Gomel Region» institution, which opened a series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the regional archive.

– For us, the year of peace and creation is a jubilee year! For 100 years, we continue to preserve our historical heritage for the sake of preserving the future, peace and well-being in our country. The use of archival materials today promotes patriotism and citizenship, loyalty and love for the Motherland like never before, – Deputy Director of the Archive A.P.Mitskevich noted in his introductory speech.

The solemn event was prepared for veterans of the archival service, people who created the good fame of the archive, were mentors of today’s generation of archivists, people who did not separate their fate and the fate of the archive, put their heart and soul into their work.

The invited guests of honor shared memories and exchanged impressions about the work of the archive at the present time, veterans learned with great interest about the projects and new achievements of the state archive.

For many years of conscientious work, high professionalism, and a large personal contribution to the development of archival affairs, the following were awarded with the thanks of the regional archive: Fedorova Valentina Anatolyevna, Zinaida Nikolaevna Chernyavskaya and Aleynikova Maria Adolfovna.

– You were and remain a kind of landmark for us. When solving difficult tasks, we always turn to your experience, following the rules that you have created in the past years, – noted the staff of the state archive.

In addition to warm words and thanks, the invited guests were given flowers and souvenirs.

In addition, during the event, a presentation prepared for the 100th anniversary of the archive was shown, as well as a selection of photos of the archive’s employees in different years was prepared and demonstrated. The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
