To the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War
On May 4, 2023, as part of the events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War and the republican campaign “Belarus remembers. Remembers everyone” Employees of the National Historical Archives of Belarus and the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archiving visited the memorial at the site of the mass extermination of Soviet citizens during the Great Patriotic War – the former prisoner of war camp “Stalag 352” in Masyukovshchina.
“Stalag 352” was one of the largest camps organized by the Nazis for prisoners of war on the territory of Belarus, and existed from July 1941 to July 1944. During this time, the Nazi invaders killed more than 80,000 Soviet military personnel here, of which names of 14,000 people. The archivists honored the memory of the dead Soviet citizens and laid flowers at the memorial.
As part of the events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory, flowers were also laid on the graves of former directors of the archive and employees of the NIA of Belarus, who are veterans of the Great Patriotic War – Hero of Socialist Labor P. M. Sudilovsky, holder of three orders of the Red Banner, Colonel V. M. Lyubko, holder of the Order of the Red Star A. A. Vlasov, S. F. Zyabko.
