In the National Historical Archive of Belarus, an educational session was held for students of secondary school No.6 in Minsk
On May 4, 2023, as part of the republican campaign «Archives – School», the National Historical Archive of Belarus held an educational session for students of the 6th, 7th and 10th grades of the 6th secondary school in Minsk, who are engaged in the school volunteer tourist-excursion association «Sigma» and are following the history of their locality (Sukhorevo microdistrict).
During the lesson, the leading researcher of the document and information department Vladimir Denisov told the students about the specifics of the archive’s document collections, about different types of documents and about the circumstances of their occurrence. The session was accompanied by a demonstration of some original documents from the 19th – early 20th centuries, which are kept in the archive and contain information on the history of the village of Sukharevo. Particular attention was paid to the disclosure of their value and importance, which is aimed at forming from a young age in students a sense of pride for their historical heritage and for their «small homeland».
The lesson aroused a lively interest among the students, who with great pleasure looked at the monuments of the history of Belarus shown to them and asked the archivists a large number of questions.
