About the holding of lectures on the topic «Belarusian children in concentration camps» by employees of the «Zonal State Archives in Orsha» within the framework of the «Archives – School» campaign

As part of the «Archives-school» action and events dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation, on May 4, 2023, the archive employees met with the 4th grade students of the «Secondary School No.12 in Orsha» educational institution and held an information session for them on the topic : «Belarusian children in concentration camps».

In the course of this event, the children were shown photographs of Nazi atrocities against children in concentration camps. Babies and teenagers were forcibly taken from their mothers, blood was taken for wounded German soldiers, medical experiments were conducted. Out of more than 24,000 deported Belarusian children, less than 2,000 remained alive. One of the eleven survived.
