On the participation of the Zonal State Archives in Zhlobin in the opening of the exhibition «Frozen Music»

On April 27, 2023, employees of the Zonal State Archive in Zhlobin took part in the opening of the anniversary exhibition «Frozen Music» by artist Leonid Velichko at the state cultural institution «Zhlobin Museum of History and Local Lore».

Leonid Velichko is a member of the international public organization of the union of writers and masters of art, a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, chairman of the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Union of Artists. Repeated participant of republican, regional and city exhibitions, plein-airs «Rogachev Plyosy» and many others. His works are in private collections in Belarus, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Poland.

Leonid Velichko is a very versatile artist. He works in different techniques: watercolor, pastel, oil.

The exposition presents about 70 paintings created in different years. These are landscapes of unusual beauty, painted by the author on the banks of the Dnieper and Ptich rivers. As well as bright and sunny pictures of the arrival of spring, the awakening of nature, still lifes and story paintings. Rural motifs are very close to the artist. Constantly returns in his work to the theme of the genocide of the Belarusian people.

The exhibition will be open at the museum until May 17.
