Archivists of Belarus at the republican subbotnik
On April 22, 2023, employees of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and republican archival institutions actively worked on the republican subbotnik.
Employees of the Department for Archives and Paperwork as part of a working group of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus were engaged in the improvement of the territory of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents.
Employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, the National Historical Archives of Belarus, the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archiving put things in order in the parks «Perespa» and along Karbysheva Street.
During the subbotnik, the editorial and publishing department of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archiving was moved to new premises at Kropotkina, 88.
Representatives of the Belarusian Union of Women of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus went to the Convent of the Holy Myrrh-bearing Women in Bobruisk to provide assistance.
On the very day of the subbotnik, representatives of the National Historical Archives of Belarus and the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus visited the burial places of former archive workers at the Northern and Eastern cemeteries.
Together with archivists, representatives of the Department of Archives and Office Work also worked in the republican archives.
In all archival institutions, the editorial office of the journal «Archives and Paperwork» and the Department of Archives and Paperwork, work was carried out to restore order at workplaces and archives, and to improve the surrounding area.
On April 22, employees of the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region took part in the republican community work day, during which the preparation of premises requiring replacement of windows was carried out in the building at 90A Frunze Ave. As a result, more than 10,000 cases have been moved. Employees of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus visited the burial place at the Northern Cemetery of A. M. Karpachev, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, director of the Central State Archive of the October Revolution and Socialist Construction of the BSSR.
Employees of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art visited the burial places of Belarusian cultural figures V. Bykov, V. Korotkevich, S. Stanyuta, E. Yanishchits, G. Shirma at the Eastern Cemetery, P. Trus, V. Ignatovsky, K. Chorny, E. Mirovich, M. Klimkovich at the Military Cemetery, Y. Luchina, N. Gilevich, I. Naumenko at the Kalvary cemetery.
Employees of the National Historical Archive in Grodno visited the burial places of veterans of the Great Patriotic War, archive workers E.V. Sazankova, P.N. Rudakov at the cemetery “Auls” in Grodno.
Archivists honored the memory of famous figures, laid flowers on the graves and put things in order where necessary.
All work was carried out in compliance with labor protection and fire safety rules.
In total, 346 representatives of the republican archival institutions and the Department of Archives and Paperwork took part in the events of the republican subbotnik. In addition, the archivists collected funds, which were transferred to the relevant accounts of the republican subbotnik.
Joint work on the republican subbotnik undoubtedly contributes to the unification and development of favorable relationships in labor collectives, the formation and consolidation of historical traditions.
