Conducting a lesson for 10th grade students as part of the «Archives for School» campaign

On April 21, 2023, as part of the «Archives to School» campaign, the institution «The State Archive of the Grodno Region» held a lesson on the topic «Military history of the city of Grodno during the period of Nazi occupation» for 10th grade students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No. 4 of Grodno».

Archive employees showed schoolchildren documentary materials of the German occupation authorities: cards of prisoners of war who were in German camps, work certificates of citizens sent to work in Germany, certificates of ghetto prisoners, questionnaires of workers, notices of conscription. Students also got acquainted with the documents of partisan and underground brigades operating on the territory of the Grodno region during the Nazi occupation.

The children had a tour of the archive, during which they visited the archives, where they learned about the conditions for storing documents, their composition and content.
