Opening of the documentary exhibition «The Constitution is the main documents of the country» at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

On April 21, 2023, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted a seminar-meeting on rule-making activities «Preliminary results of the implementation of the constitutional reform by the republican government bodies. Topical issues of preparation of draft legal acts and organization of this activity in the Government system». As part of this event, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus prepared a documentary exhibition «The Constitution is the main documents of the country».

The exhibition project presents unique documents from the archives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, the Supreme Council of the BSSR. These are the Draft Resolution of the IX All-Belarusian Congress of Soviets on changes to the articles of the Constitution of the BSSR for 1929, the memorandum of the Secretary of the Chashniksky RK CP(b)B to the Central Committee of the CP(b)B on the progress of studying the report of I.V. Stalin on the Constitution of the Union SSR by the workers of the region dated December 25, 1936. The memorandum of the Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars and the Constitutional Commission of the BSSR N. Goloded to the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks and the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR on the draft Constitution of the Byelorussian SSR dated January 10, 1937 aroused great interest among visitors to the exhibition, as well as the Declaration of the Supreme Council of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic on the adoption and announcement of the Constitution (Basic Law) of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic of April 14, 1978, newspaper clippings on the discussion of the Constitution of the USSR among workers, collective farmers and working people.

The exhibition was viewed by Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus V.V. Mitskevich, Chief of Staff of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus K.V. Burak, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus S.N. Khomenko, as well as employees of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.
