Conducting a lesson for students as part of the “Archives for School” campaign

April 14, 2023 as part of the “Archives for School” campaign by the State Archive of the Grodno Region for 9th grade students of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 13 Grodno” a lesson was held on the topic “The role of archives in the preservation of historical heritage”.

During the lesson, the children got acquainted with the history of the State Archives of the Grodno Region and the specifics of the work of archivists, learned about the main activities of the institution. The students were presented with the most valuable and unique documentary materials stored in the archive. The staff of the archive demonstrated to schoolchildren the exhibitions exhibited in the reading room “There was a people’s war. Partisans and underground fighters of the Grodno region”, “Human fates. In memory of the victims of fascism.

The students were able to observe the process of restoring paper media in the laboratory for the restoration, repair and binding of documents.
